A trip to Tupelo to see Gavin and Nessa and deliver 'The Bright Forever' to crankydragon!

After a hard morning of shopping Earl and I stopped by Starbucks to see Marci and get a great cup of White Chocolate Mocha! 

Earl visits the Southaven WalMart and meets our favorite WalMart greeter, Louise. Note.. Louise has a bookcrossing book in her had that I had released outside of WalMart and another customer brought inside and gave to her to read :) 

Today MissLou and I took Earl with us when we went to breakfast and ran errands. We had a great time and everyone was interested in hearing Earl's story.

Earl is a real charmer... We are looking forward to his spending several weeks with us before moving on to the next location! We want to show him Graceland and several other tourist attractions in our area.

Well... today my Mom is 80 years old! WOW! She has seen many changes in this world in her lifetime and she is still one of the most positive people I've ever met. Her outlook on life and the world in general is an inspiration to me and everyone she knows.

Starglazer lily just opened up yesterday! Beautiful colors along with the deep pink thirft and the blue veronica in the background... This is part of the flowerbed along the front of the garage. Miss Joyce gave me the stargazer lillies last year so this is their second year to bloom in this flowerbed. 

This is my smallest birdbath. It's about 12-15 inches high and sits in front of some Japanese painted ferns in the flowerbed at the front porch.  

This is an asiatic lily that blooms at the southwest corner of the house. I took this picture early in the morning while the dew was still on the flowers... This has always been one of my favorites. It's just one of the many Joyce & Arlie gave me. This is it's third summer..... 

This is my favorite piece of yard art... It's about 6 years old. I found it at the Pink Palace Arts and Craft fair. 

This is just some of the 'veronica' blooming in the long flowerbed on the hill. It's a beautiful blue color and thick as hops. 

I forget what these are called... light, airy plants blooming in the fig tree garden

I just love fact that we can now post photos! This is so cool!!! Petey gave me a new camera for Christmas and I've taken more pictures this year that ever before. Digital just makes it soooo easy, and now I have a place to post pictures for posterity. Now I'll be clicking even more.

WooooWeeeee.... we had a storm here last night. Lots or wind.... Lots of rain... Tornado warnings out everywhere, but no major damage. There were several sightings, but none touched down. I'll have to walk around the place in a few minutes to make sure everything is okay.

Today is Memorial Day, and I'm looking forward to some of the Memorial Day programs on TV. I don't know if we will get out to the service they are having at the cemetary in Memphis, probably not, but I continue to pray for all the service men and women that are in harm's way.

Memphis AI Summit 2004 --- "I AM ROADWAY" J.D. Peeples presented me with one of the posters they are putting up in various terminal around the country. I gave this one to Mom!  

"Girls just want to have FUN!" That's Ruby Wilson in the background... She was fantastic! and really helped make the party!
